Natural History Museum
The Natural History Museum is located in the old German Boma, the original fortification constructed at the turn of the 20th century. Head up the hill (towards Mt. Meru) from the clock tower roundabout and you can't miss it.
The museum is actually made up of three small buildings with different exhibits: early human history, Tanzanian plants/animals and colonial era history of the Tanganyika. The latter is the most interesting and includes historical pictures of the Boma and surrounding area. Also part of the history exhibit are interviews with Arusha locales regarding their feelings towards the German and English colonial eras. These interviews, the gem of the exhibit, are a fascinating examination of life in colonial East Africa.
